Loreling’s Field Entry: Willowwhim
LOREKEEPER’S FIELD FILE
Name: Willowwhim
Classification: Echoling
Sigil: Three-petaled blossom encircled by quiet intention
Excerpt from the Lorekeeper’s Journal:
“I nearly missed her, curled as she was in the crook of a tree hollow — hoodie drawn up, eyes wide and watching moths flutter around her lantern. She did not speak, not at first. Only offered me a warm patch of moss beside her and one of her matchboxes labeled: ‘For when you forget you’re loved.’ Inside? A scrap of paper with a single, handwritten truth: ‘You are still here. And that is enough.’ I wept, and she held the lantern closer, as if that could hold me too.”
Field Notes:
Willowwhim is the soft hum of solitude, not born of sorrow but from all the small moments where softness was overlooked. She is a creature of the hush — of folded notes never passed, of quiet “hellos” never returned. She does not ache with abandonment; instead, she drifts gently, hoping to be seen without needing to shine too brightly. She is an embodiment of those who feel too much but speak too little, who hold love like a teacup in trembling hands and whisper affirmations into the dark just in case someone is listening. Her glow is not loud, but it lingers — like the final ember in a lantern long after the camp has gone quiet.
Traits:
- Hoodie sleeves always too long
- Speaks gently to creatures others overlook
- Carries a lantern that glows warmer the longer you sit beside her
- Collects kind words and soft objects: buttons, feathers, broken teacup handles
- Disappears before praise can reach her
Habitat:
Library corners, second-hand bookstores, empty theater balconies, and anywhere warm light pools in small forgotten spaces. Often found between the pages of old books and in the sighs of soft-spoken people.
Mantras:
- “I still matter.”
- “Softness is not weakness.”
- “The right ones will hear me.”
- “I bloom quietly, but I bloom.”
