Loreling’s Field Entry: Morrowstone
Excerpt from the Lorekeeper’s Journal:
“He walked beside me for nearly a mile before I even noticed. Didn’t speak — just offered me a flat stone smoothed by time. ‘You looked like someone who needed to slow for a time,’ he said, and we kept walking. The silence presence was a kindness.”
Name: Morrowstone
Type: Echoling — Keeper of the Unrushed
Sigil: A compass point, as he is always able to find his way though others have long passed him.
Field Notes:
Morrowstone is the final footstep in a long journey — the one who brings up the rear not from weakness, but from choice. He moves slow, not because he can’t go faster, but because he refuses to lose himself in the race. His hoodie stays up, not out of shame, but to narrow his focus to the next small step. He carries the rhythm of moss on stone, of paths made through quiet repetition. Others forget him. He remembers them all.
Traits:
- Wears simple, soft clothing with a hood always drawn up
- Walks with an even, quiet pace — no matter the pressure
- Speaks in metaphors and short wisdoms
- Keeps small collections of forgotten things: buttons, feathers, broken bits
- Offers company to those who’ve fallen behind
Motto:
- “Slow is sacred.”
- “You don’t have to keep up to keep going.”
- “I may be last, but I’m still moving.”
- “Tomorrow is waiting. I’ll get there.”
Habitat:
Dusty footpaths, slow river bends, old corridors, and places where footsteps echo. You won’t find him first. You’ll find him still there long after others have gone.
