Loreling Field Entry: Wardling of Escape
Field Guide Entry: The Wardling of Escape
Classification: Wardling
Subclass: Soul-Path Guide
Alias: Ribbonwitch, The Gentle Threshold, She Who Waits Beside the Gate
General Behaviour: This Wardling does not demand. She invites. A creature of passage, she appears at the edges of burnout, breakdown, or soul-thirst - when the need for escape becomes undeniable, and the cost of staying still becomes too high. She offers no map. No explanation. Just a hand, a smile, and a softly glowing path into somewhere else.
Appearance:Flowing skirts, layered scarves, a tall hat that shifts with the wind. Her cloak is threaded with trinkets: bits of broken jewelry, tiny bells, faded feathers, ribbon fragments from a dozen forgotten celebrations. Each one once belonged to someone she helped walk away. Her portal hums - a mirror, a doorway, a shimmer between trees. It's never the same shape twice.
Behavioural Traits
- Speaks in gentle metaphors and unexpected clarity.
- Drawn to crossroads, thresholds, and souls whispering "I can't do this anymore."
- Tends to appear when you're not quite ready to leave, but definitely done staying.
- Loves fireflies. Hates clocks.
From the Lorekeeper’s journal: "The first time I saw her, she didn't speak. She just tilted her head and opened her hand, like she already knew I would follow. Do not mistake her softness for aimlessness. Her path winds, yes - but it knows. She doesn't lead you away. She leads you back to yourself. And when the world is too loud, when your skin doesn't fit, and the weight of now is unbearable ... she will be there. With a ribbon, a grin, and a way out.”
